About This Site
Let’s start with the basics: this is a web-log (commonly referred to as a “blog”) that will focus on the Air Force Medical Service, hereafter referred to as AFMS. This is NOT an official website of the Air Force, the Department of Defense, or any other government or military agency. It is not endorsed, supported, funded, or otherwise affiliated with the Air Force or any government or military agency. This is simply a website that will post news, information, and tidbits about the AFMS, the people of the AFMS, newsworthy stuff about the AFMS, some history stuff, and it will (I hope) help people - both in and out of the AFMS - learn more about the most amazing military medics the world has ever known.
And who am I…? I’ve been around and in the AFMS for over 30 years, including: time as a military brat (my dad served in the AFMS); time as an enlisted member of the AFMS; and also time as an officer in the AFMS. Yeah, I’ve been around the AFMS for while…heck, I can even remember when TOPA was called “Patient Affairs,” most Air Force medical facilities actually had inpatient units, and First Sergeants were often 906X0s!
